Nikkie & Bryan: Married.

I had the GREATEST time photographing this wedding! Such a fun couple....and I mean FUN! They made their wedding ceremony their own, complete with Harry Potter music at the ceremony, the bride & groom writing their very own vows (I shed a tear or two by the way), and a surprise reception entrance with the entire bridal party breaking out in the Harlem Shake!!
A sweet Summer wedding too place on August 31st at  The Lodge Concord, and it was BEAUTIFUL!

Sean + Chee :: Married

It was a sunny, July day in Hickory, North Carolina. The decorations were up, and the bride was getting ready to go meet her groom at a nearby park for their "first look" together before the ceremony. I think the images speak for themselves. Sean was turned around, his eyes closed, waiting for his soon-to-be bride. Chee comes up behind him, and they see each other. Smiles all around. Such a sweet moment with just the two of them, and a couple camera lenses there to capture such a sweet moment.

From there, it was back to the church to be wedded. Guests were signing the guestbook, and walking into this beautiful church that had a gorgeous backdrop of a cross and the color green behind Sean as he stood there awaiting the entrance of his bride. With bridesmaids & groomsmen in place, the music started, guests rose, Chee and her Father entered. She was all smiles as she walked down the aisle, with rows of seating decorated with photos of Sean & Chee together over the years. The ceremony began. Beautiful, just beautiful. They poured sand into a picture frame, with an engagement session photo inside; the sand represented unity. Some "I Do's" were said, a sweet kiss, and a grand exit. It was official!

I was able to steal Sean & Chee away for a few minutes to get a few posed photos of the first photos of the two of them together as husband and wife. So we snuck off to the back side of the church, to an alley-way type location. Chee was so excited to get a few photos with the brick walls, she said "she loved brick walls!" While we were snapping away, guests were entering the reception.

A sweet wedding cake (and cupcakes) were on display, making mouths water. The tables decorated with vases, floating candles, and flower petals. The bridal party made their entrance, with the bride & groom's grand entrance to follow.

A few speeches were made, happy-tears were shed, and dinner was served. The marriage license was signed, and the bride & groom were off to begin their journey as husband & wife!  Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Lee!!

4th Birthday Session

Meet Gage - a spunky, full of personality, incredibly smart, funny, soon-to-be four year old!
For his birthday, Gage chose the theme of cowboys & Indians. His birthday session was complete with a teepee, authentic head dress, tribal wand, tomahawk, and a tribal bow & arrow set! The session was photographed in Union Grove, NC.....and may I just say that I could not have asked for better lighting!!! I mean look at that golden light & lens flare! Below are just a FEW of my favorite images from his session!

Vintage Circus Themed Baby Shower!!!

"Motherhood is a balancing act"

Here are a few images from a baby shower that my mom & I threw together for my sweet sister and new little nephew! The above quote, "Motherhood is a balancing act" was the inspiration for this themed shower, seeing as how my sister will soon have THREE little boys running through her household. I had so much fun prepping for this shower, from making ticket garland, getting together a food list that replicated circus treats, to popping the popcorn on the day of the shower. Jordan & Jay :: Married

It is an honor to feature this wedding on the Free Bird Photography Blog! Jordan & Jay were married on May 3rd, in Harmony, NC. I've gotten to know this sweet couple over the past several months....from the very first consult at Starbucks, to their Fall engagement session at the lake, to Jordan's bridal portraits before she walked down the aisle on their big day! It has been a joy to get to know them, and also inspiring. Their love for each other is so apparent and undeniable. Being witness to such a sweet love story, and watching it unfold has been a beautiful thing to see. I love my job...not only do I get to create last memories for others, but those very people allow me to see and hear their very own love story....that in itself is heartwarming. Congrats to the newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs. Estes!

Recent Engagement Sessions.

Hello all! Thanks for stopping by the Free Bird Photography Blog! I haven't updated this blog as much as I should have been the past few months. I have been so busy taking photos. One of the things I love most about my career is getting to meet so many new faces through photography! Whether it be clients, their family, or networking with other photographers.
Although I offer a variety of photography services (engagements, bridals, weddings, family, maternity, newborn, high school seniors, and even birthday parties) I specialize in working with couples building up to their big day. So here are some of my favorite photos from a few recent engagement sessions that I've had in 2014 so far! Oh, and by the way, wedding season officially kicks off next weekend for me! Hello, Lovies!

Here are a few images from my session with Nikkie & Bryan; they're set to get hitched on August 31st, 2014! While planning the session details, Nikkie had a vision for a rustic theme...with that idea, I automatically thought of Fisher Farm Park in Davidson, NC. Nikkie & Bryan were the first "Free Bird Couple" to have ever been photographed there!
